Information

LLLC, EPIMORFOSIS, intends to organize a Sensory Integration (S.I.) Paediatrics – MODULE 2 course with professor Dimitrios Mylonadis.

The course lasts 5 days and will take place in Athens on 27 – 31 May 2026.

The course fee is 770€.

In order to finalize your registration and ensure a placement to this seminar, a down payment of 320€ must be deposited.

The rest amount of 450€ must be deposited in our bank account or via debit / credit card, at least 2 days prior to the beginning day of the course.

For an optimal educational experience, in the second part of the Sensory Integration seminars (SI2), it is important that children are available for assessment and therapy.
To support participants in finding suitable cases, EPIMORFOSIS offers a 10% discount to anyone who brings a case to the seminar.
If more than one case is provided, the discount is calculated cumulatively (20% for two children, 30% for three children, and so on).
If more cases are offered than required, a priority order will be observed.
If you are participating and are able to bring a case, please inform us at info@epimorfosis.gr

The discounts (for SI2) are applied upon completion of the seminar and provided that the case attends the seminar.

We would like to share an introductory note from the professor about the seminar:

Dear Participants,

A philosopher once said: “We know more than we can tell.”
This training program is dedicated precisely to that — to the gap between what we know and what we are able to do with that knowledge.
Because in Sensory Integration, as in good clinical practice in general, it is not enough to know — you must think, observe, analyze, and ultimately make meaningful decisions.

What This Program Is Not

Let’s say it plainly: I am not going to teach you how to administer an assessment.
That is the easy part — and honestly, it would not be enough.
What we are going to do together is something far more interesting, far more demanding, and — dare I say — far more enjoyable:
I am going to teach you how to think!!
How to observe in ways you never have before.
How to gather data with purpose.
How to analyze it using clinical reasoning that has depth, structure, and — yes — quite a bit of artistry.
How to reflect on what you do and evolve as clinical therapists.
As Schön said — and Schön knew exactly what he was talking about — true professional development is not the accumulation of knowledge. It is the transformation of thinking.
That is the program you are holding in your hands. And yes — it is a transformative experience. I know that sounds a little grandiose. But wait until Friday, and then you can tell me yourselves.

What This Program Is

Five days of intensive, experiential, interactive learning that will change the way you see a child, the way you think about assessment, and the way you approach your clinical practice.
We will work in groups.
We will watch videos and analyze them.
We will reflect, question, disagree, conclude, and begin again.
We will gain hands-on experience with real children.
We will present, listen, and learn from one another.
This program is more dialogical than didactic — there will be no sleeping participants in this room. I promise you that.
“We are ready to learn those things we can apply to our lives.” — Malcolm Knowles, 1984

So — get ready.

Information

The S.I. method:
Sensory Integration 2 – The clinical reasoning and appraisal in sensory integration.
“We know more than we can tell” (Polanyi, 1967).

So what is clinical reasoning?

It’s a cognitive sector of an increasing interest of researchers and therapists in the ergotherapy environment, as much as it is in physiotherapy and in other physical sciences’. Mattingly (1991) supports the idea saying that “clinical reasoning includes much more of the ability to give understandable interpretations in order to reason clinical decisions, exactly because it is based on a “silent” understanding that is gained through experience.

In addition, it includes much more of a plain theory-to-fact setting, mainly when theory is explained in science, and that’s because complex clinical decisions formerly demand the capture of a curative intervention which would confront the single meaning of disability, in any way this could be related to every patient.”(pg. 979)

Clinical reasoning in sensory integration.

This seminar fully regards clinical ergotherapists, physiotherapists, or even logotherapists that have completed a 5-day training in theory and therapies of sensory integration either in the Epimorfosis center, or in other educational centers. The target and philosophy of the seminar is to equip the therapists with the essential fundamental knowledge, in order to make clear clinical decisions, and in the planning of scientific based, therapy programs.
The way in whom clinical decisions are made is way too complex and demands knowing both theory and clinical appliance to act. In order to throw bridge across the hiatus, this seminar is build up on modern thinking models and cognitive theories.
The one main target is the extension of what was mentioned in sensory integration seminar 1 and the use both in evaluation and in treatment of sensory regulation dysfunctions.
Even the course is mainly pediatric, turned out useful in many other diagnostic groups.Educational videos, practitioners’ presentations, discussions and workshops, such as demonstration of patient-treatment session by the course leader are included, in order to gain an understanding of the seminar.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize clinical reasoning models and apply them in order to reach clinical decisions

  2. Understand clinical reasoning levels and relevant scientific fields of knowledge

  3. Use complex skills – sensory integration, neuroscience and clinical reasoning- during patients’ evaluation

  4. Make clinical observations based on Sensory Integration principles

  5. Explain, plan and evaluate treatments based on Sensory Integration theory.

This seminar is an extension of Sensory Integration 1 and constitutes a requirement for Sensory Integration Module 3: The Art and Science of Sensory Integration Treatment – A Practical Approach

Time Schedule

The Structure of the Programme – Five Days, A Journey of Knowledge

________________________________________

Day 1 – 08:30 – 17:00 – “How We Learn and How We Think”

Adult Learning · Reflection · Introduction to Clinical Reasoning
We begin at the beginning — and the beginning is not SI. It is you.
Who are you as learners?
How do adults learn — and why does that matter for what we are about to do over the next five days?
What is reflective practice, and why was Schön so insistent about it?
And what exactly is clinical reasoning — beyond the impressive terminology?
The first day lays the foundation: cognitive, theoretical, and human. Without these, everything that follows is merely technique. And we are not here to do “mere technique.

Day 2 – 09:00 – 17:00 – “The Neuroscientific Foundation — But This Time in Depth”

Neuroscience · Sensory Systems · Behavioral Phenotypes · Introduction to SI Assessment · Ayres Clinical Observations
You already know the neuroscience — or at least you think you do.
Today we revisit it, but in depth and with purpose: how does our knowledge of sensory systems from SI1 become the guide for the assessment process?
We will discuss the behavioral phenotypes we use in clinical diagnosis — because behavior is not a “problem”; it is information.
We will be introduced to how assessment is conducted in SI, and the day will conclude with what many consider the highlight of the program: training in Ayres Clinical Observations — an art form in itself.

________________________________________

Day 3 – 09:00 – 17:00“Clinical Observation in Action — and What We Do with What We See”

Recap of Clinical Observations · Assessment of Regulation, Discrimination, Postural Control, Coordination, and Praxis Difficulties · Group Preparation for Day 4
We begin with a recap of the Clinical Observations — because repetition is not weakness; it is strategy.
Then we go deeper: how do we assess difficulties in regulation, sensory discrimination, postural control, coordination, and praxis?
The day concludes with something I truly love: the groups prepare for Day 4.
You will design assessments, think like clinicians, and collaborate.
Tomorrow there will be no essay — there will be a real child.

Ημέρα 4 – 09:00 – 17:00“The Real-World Day”

Child Assessment · Parent Interview · Sensory Profile · Analysis · Clinical Presentation
This is the day when everything comes together.
Each group, under my guidance, conducts an assessment of a real child — including a parent interview and completion of the Sensory Profile.
This is not a simulation. It is not a video. It is real — and that is precisely why it is invaluable.
Afterward, the groups analyze their findings and prepare clinical presentations for Day 5.
This is where the magic happens: knowledge, observation, and clinical reasoning — all coming together into one coherent clinical argument.

________________________________________

Day 5 – 09:00 – 16:00“Presenting, Reflecting, and Celebrating”

Group Presentations · Open Discussion · Group Reflection · Certificates
The final day belongs to you.
Each group presents its clinical case study — approximately 45 minutes per group, followed by questions and group reflection.
This is not an examination — it is professional dialogue. The best learning happens when we hear someone else thinking out loud.
We will close with something I consider just as important as any theory: a group reflection on what we experienced together during these five days — what we gained, what we leave behind, and where we go from here.

And after that — your certificates. Fully earned

Testimonials

Training, a steady value for more than twenty years now, leads physiotherapy and keeps it at a very high level, well done to George Karambalis and his associates, we owe a lot to all of you.

- Philip Tzimoulis -

The best physiotherapists training institution. It enables the development of the necessary knowledge for clinical reasoning. High-quality training without having to travel abroad.

- Tsoukalas Kotsiris Georgios -

My first steps in professional specialization started with EPIMORFOSIS and continue. It has been with us all these years, covering the need for modern and documented knowledge, in collaboration with internationally acclaimed educational institutions.

- Kostas Poulis -

I have known George Karampalis and EPIMORFOSIS for many years. I’ve had the opportunity to join several clinical courses and I can argue that, at the level of organisation and selection of trainers, they have a high level of recognised prestige.

- Georgia Petta -

EPIMORFOSIS justifies its name by providing high quality courses. George Karampalis operates more like a constant “trainee” and less like an entrepreneur, and this is an additional positive fact in the effort that is put by the workers and teachers of EPIMORFOSIS.

- Dimitris Stamoulis -

EPIMORFOSIS organizes specialization seminars for rehabilitation professionals. I’ve watched a lot. I strongly recommend you trust EPIMORFOSIS for your specialization and lifelong information.

- Alexandros Karagiannidis -
