The Method:

What exactly is Active Rehab?
Active rehabilitation is a recovery based program in which the client plays an active role. The client participates in the rehab, compared to someone performing rehab on them. These programs are directed toward the clients injury, history and current abilities. The goal of active rehabilitation is to increase function and overall strength and this type of rehabilitation consists of exercises and stretches, but can include other aspects such as cognitive exercises, nutrition and rest. Active Rehabilitation includes but is not limited to: mobility, stability, strength and endurance training  through client specific exercises and progression.

Active Rehabilitation 360°

In the last decade scientific evidence has been recommending an active, exercise based approach for several kinds of musculoskeletal problems. Thorough analysis of the patients problems and subjective as well as physical parameter gathering precedes the choice of the rehabilitation approach. Detailed and partially software related parameter gathering will highlight the biological and psychosocial, functional variables of human movement.

The individual capability of load tolerance and the amount of acceptable symptoms during the rehabilitation process needs to be planned and are correlated to the patients clinical history, presentation as well as to the individual needs. The right volume, frequency and intensity of the exercise program needs to be determined as well as the desired and achievable goals in the correct time frame.

Three specialized physiotherapists will be dealing with several aspects of functional movement analysis, parameter gathering, planning, execution, optimization, progression of exercise, goal setting and observation of the rehabilitation process and their focus will be on an active exercise based approach.

1. Rolf Walter, BSc.Pt., OMPT, Sportsphysiotherapist, teacher and clinical supervisor at the Master/OMPT education of Lugano University (SUPSI), Physiotherapist Consultant at Professional Ice-Hockey Club Lugano.
Rolf’s 2 days seminar will focus on analysis of the variables like; diagnostics, neuroscience, psycho-physical conditioning, individual goal setting and detailed monitoring of neuro-musculo-scheletal dysfunctions. This 2 day course takes in consideration the individual needs of all kinds of different patients which therapists encounter in their daily job.
Rolf will present and discuss several clinical cases and as well as live demonstrations of how to choose active exercise, how to start and how to progress as well as how to determine rehabilitation objectives.
2. Marco Cattaneo, BSc.Pt., MSc. Sportsphysiotherapist, Strength & Conditioning specialist and University teacher at SUPSI university Lugano, Sports Physiotherapist at Professional Ice Hockey Club Lugano.
Marco will present the detailed essentials of Strength & Conditioning, how to plan and execute the exercises to implement a training program towards the development of Strength, Power and Agility and how to adapt the individual exercises towards the management of muscular lesions and tendinopathies.
3. Andrea Benvenuti, BSc.Pt., Physiotherapist Consultant g.s. fiamme azzurre 2003-2012, member technical commission  of San Marino olympic committee 2009-2019, member technical commission of San Marino soccer federation 2019-today, Former European Champion and 2 times Olympic participant of the Italian National team of Track & Field.
Andrea will close the gap between rehabilitation and athletic performance and explain the detalis of optimizing and maintaining the single components needed for performance at the highest levels of sports performance. Andrea deals with different forms of top level training like power development, plyometrics, the coordinative abilities of motor control in the presence of external stimuli.

Testimonials

EPIMORFOSIS organizes specialization seminars for rehabilitation professionals. I’ve watched a lot. I strongly recommend you trust EPIMORFOSIS for your specialization and lifelong information.

- Alexandros Karagiannidis -

Training, a steady value for more than twenty years now, leads physiotherapy and keeps it at a very high level, well done to George Karambalis and his associates, we owe a lot to all of you.

- Philip Tzimoulis -

The best physiotherapists training institution. It enables the development of the necessary knowledge for clinical reasoning. High-quality training without having to travel abroad.

- Tsoukalas Kotsiris Georgios -

My first steps in professional specialization started with EPIMORFOSIS and continue. It has been with us all these years, covering the need for modern and documented knowledge, in collaboration with internationally acclaimed educational institutions.

- Kostas Poulis -

I have known George Karampalis and EPIMORFOSIS for many years. I’ve had the opportunity to join several clinical courses and I can argue that, at the level of organisation and selection of trainers, they have a high level of recognised prestige.

- Georgia Petta -

EPIMORFOSIS justifies its name by providing high quality courses. George Karampalis operates more like a constant “trainee” and less like an entrepreneur, and this is an additional positive fact in the effort that is put by the workers and teachers of EPIMORFOSIS.

- Dimitris Stamoulis -
