The course is addressed to Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Doctors, Podiatrists and other Health Professionals.

EPIMORFOSIS intends to organize a Basic seminar on ‘Functional Evaluation of the Lower Limbs – Sole Shaping under the auspices of the Foot Science International Academy in collaboration with Formthotics ™ Academy with professors Kosta Kyprioti & George Tsiriggaki.

The seminar lasts 2 days and will be held in Thessaloniki.

The cost of the seminar is 270€.

To finalize your participation, a deposit of 120€ must be paid.

The remaining amount of 150€ must be deposited at least 2 days before the start of the seminar.

The cost of the seminar includes the delivery of a personalized functional sole for personal use as well as training materials (soles).
In addition, each participant will receive a FREE “starter pack” totaling 180 €.

^Objective

Impairments in the alignment, mobility and stability of the feet can be a causing factor for pain in the lower extremities, biomechanical alterations and reduced functional performance (e.g. balance). The aim of the seminar is to provide participants the foundation knowledge and practical skills for the effective assessment of foot deformities and the practical skills required in order to prescribe, fit and review foot orthoses. The clinical assessment focuses not only to the alignment, but also to neural, and myofascial components. In this way, passive, active and neural systems of foot stability are addressed.

The foot orthoses assessment and prescription system used in this seminar is provided by Formthotics™ . Formthotics™ wide range of custom fitted orthotics can be selected and adapted by a specialized therapist to the needs of the patient. They are heat moulded in order to optimize fitting and they provide the opportunity of ongoing modification through re-molding or the posting of special wedges.

Moreover, the basic course addresses topics such as: Common conditions associated with the foot, Gait analysis, Interrogation of footwear and reading the foot through deformities and skin adaptations.

More specifically after the completion of the basic seminar the participants will be able to:

• Be introduced to common conditions associated with the foot
• Understand key basic principles of gait analysis
• Learn to assess shoe properties and shoe wear
• Learn to read foot deformities and skin adaptations
• Assess Patients Confidently and Effectively using the 6 TestsTM.
• Identify any Limitations, Abnormalities or Conditions Impacting upon their Prescription of Foot Orthoses, when using the 6 TestsTM.
• Rationalise and justify the appropriate prescription and clinical application of foot Orthoses.
• List any contraindications, dangers & precautions.
• Confidently and appropriately issue, adjust and review foot Orthoses for a patient.

1. A certificate of attendance, a degree or a diploma will be issued.
2. Printed handouts are provided (notes or relevant book).
3. In case of cancellation of the seminar due to EPIMORFOSIS’s responsibility, deposited fees will be refunded immediately.
4. EPIMORFOSIS reserves the right to change the date or postopone  seminars, informing participants by phone and / or sms & e-mail. In such a  case participants are entitled to request full refund of their fees if they do not wish to attend the seminar on the new date or to use this amount for their participation in other seminars or services of the company.
5. In the event of a strike, government’s bans, heavy bad weather, and generally any event beyond the reasonable control of the organisers  which impedes the execution of part or all of the seminar, the organizers reserve the right to change the date and time of the event. In this case the fees are not refundable but are valid as they are.
6. Cancellation of participation due to participant’s responsibility is possible only by email, as follows:
• up to 30 days prior to the start of the seminar, all deposits are refundable.
• up to 15 days prior to the start of the seminar, 50% is refundable.
