Thomas Julius Josef Metzger is a physiotherapist, sports physiotherapist, and educator with more than 40 years of professional, clinical, and teaching experience in Germany and internationally. He is based in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany, and is active as a clinician, scientific collaborator, and lecturer of specialized educational programs. He holds a degree in Physiotherapy (1992), is a DOSB-licensed Sports Physiotherapist (1988), a Certified Medical Masseur (1984), and a Physical Education Teacher (1981). He has completed numerous postgraduate and advanced training programs, including: Lymphatic Drainage (Földi Institute), Manual Therapy, Medical Training Therapy (MTT), Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF – Knott Concept), Neural Structure Therapy, Mirror Therapy, Management of Local Joint Instabilities Since 2000, he has served as Director and Clinician at timeoutmedVital GmbH – Medical Taping Centre in Schwäbisch Gmünd. He was the founder and owner of the rehabilitation center medVital (1995–2014) and has held leading positions as Head of Physiotherapy Departments in rehabilitation clinics and hospitals. His professional career includes extensive work in hospitals, sports medicine centers, and Olympic training facilities. He has been teaching since 1978 in colleges of physical education and physiotherapy in Germany. He has long-standing experience as a lecturer in recognized educational institutions and higher schools of physiotherapy (Stuttgart, Ulm, Schwäbisch Gmünd, Heilbronn, among others) and continues to teach to the present day. Scientific and Professional Activities: He is an active member of national and international scientific and professional organizations, including: DOSB (Sports Physiotherapy), Medical Taping Association Germany (former Vice-President), International Taping Association, German Society of Lymphology, Z-Health Performance, Barça Universitas, Next Level Neuro, Publications & Authorship He has authored and contributed to numerous scientific publications and books focusing on Medical Taping, Functional Flossing, tendon rehabilitation, and modern sports physiotherapy, published in international journals and by leading academic publishers (including Elsevier). He has served as a sports physiotherapist for national teams and professional clubs in sports such as tennis, wrestling, gymnastics, volleyball, ice hockey, and kickboxing, as well as in international competitions and Olympic training centers.
