Dr. med. Christian Schuchhardt was born in 1945 in Basel.

He studied medicine in Freiburg i. Breisgau and Hamburg.
From 1964 to 1972 he was a Practitioner at the Pathology Institute of the University of Freiburg, from 1974 to 1983 he specialized in Pathology, Hematology and Oncology at the University of Freiburg and from 1983 to 1990 he was the director of the Hinterz Clinic. In 1990 he became director of the Klinik Pieper Clinic, St. Blasien-Menzenschwand, specialized clinic for oncological and lymphatic diseases. He has made numerous publications on oncology and lymphology.
He is the co-publisher of many special books on lymphology, such as:
Lymphatic drainage, theory, basic techniques and applications & decongestion physiotherapy,, 1. edition 2009,
Erkrankungen des Lymphgefässsystems, 4th edition 2006,
Lymphedema- Diagnosis and Therapy (1997, 2000, 3rd Edition 2007),

He regularly attends conferences giving lectures in Germany and abroad.
He is the medical director of several schools for Asdonk / Földi lymphatic puncture in Switzerland, Germany and Canada.
He is a member of the board of the German Lymphology Association and chairman of the educational committee of the German Lymphology Association.
