Information

The Bobath concept (advanced course)

Globe-transp-1Elementary motion transitions as a basis for the development of activities in the gravitational field

More and more patients should / must become independent faster and faster and move and act in the gravitational field. The way there often involves management or large compensation strategies. The question arises whether we cannot use the movement transitions with less gravity requirement for an easier way into the upright position and into the activity. In which way does motor learning take place on this level so that the patient can transfer these selective movements and components to locomotion and reaching?

The course topic is analysed and applied to course patients (patients with hemiplegia and patients with SHT).

The theme will be shown in theory and practise and during the treatment of patients.

Learning aims:

At the end of the course the participant will be able to:

  • To be able to analyse and identify the requirements of the movement transitions
  • To understand and use the principle of stability and mobility in the different body parts to gain postural orientation and postural stability
  • To understand the relevance and mechanisms of the sensory afferent input for the feed-forward postural control and the underlying Neurophysiology for motor learning
  • To understand the difference between learning an activity or movement and training.
  • To discuss the difference between motor recovery and compensation
  • To deepen and to improve the process of clinical reasoning in neurological patients
  • Develop and improve the specific clinical skills during the treatment sessions under supervision of the instructors

Requirement: positive evaluated basic course certificate IBITA
